ARE YOU REALLY A BREEDER ?!

| Friday, 17 January 2014

I often see an advertisement for dogs sale in newspapers and several internet sites, and the sellers are calling themselves dog breeder or kennel. I always asked myself  "Are you really a BREEDER ?!”

What is actually BREEDER  means ???

Dog breeding is the practice of mating selected dogs with the intent to maintain or produce specific qualities and characteristics.

Breeder is someone who marries his dog with the aim to produce puppies as perfect as possible approached breed standard is concerned, both physical and character.

A breeder devoted himself to improving the quality of  his owned dogs. In addition he is willing to provide its resources for the welfare and health of the dog, because without it the dog will not produce puppies that are healthy and have good character.

Farmer

A farmer is a person who breed dogs with the purpose of profit. In accordance with economic principles that we learned, one way to make a profit is to reduce cost as low as possible. Welfare and health of the dog is not the main thing, often times only dogs caged for 24 hours 7 days a week without ever invited to play and be loved. Impurities that accumulate in the stable. Untreated when ill.

The place where the farmer breeding dog is called a puppy mill. Did you know that 90% of animals sold in pet stores come from puppy mills ? Cute puppies that are the result of the suffering parent who often lifetime never even touched the ground because it is always in the cage.

Final Words

Don’t be too quick to trust people who call themselves a breeder, before buying a dog first check carefully. Always check the state of its parent, is kept locked up, diseased skin, and neglected ?

In addition, many dogs are currently displaced, why we don’t adopt and rescue those dogs instead of giving our money to the farmer dogs?

Remember that a puppy mill is a form of animal cruelty.
